On the afternoon of January 16th, in order to better serve the national strategic layout, key industrial needs, local economic and social development, and the comprehensive development of students, the college organized a theory-discussing conference on serving Guangxi water network construction with a "looking outward" approach. The conference aimed to focus on Guangxi water network construction and mobilize new impetus for our high-quality development. President Li Lin, Deputy President Liu Cunxiang and Deputy President Zhou Tao attended the meeting.
President Li Lin provided a detailed interpretation of the construction planning for the backbone projects of the Guangxi water network and the 42 major water conservancy projects. He emphasized that all departments and secondary schools should identify entry points and focal points in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and social services, and create new dynamics and patterns based on demand. He proposed three main points: firstly, we should emancipate its mind, innovate and seek change, and truly understand the significance of Guangxi water network construction for the school's future development; secondly, it is necessary to conduct thorough analysis, tap potential, and provide precise services for all aspects of Guangxi's water conservancy industry; thirdly, it is essential to closely align with the construction of the Guangxi water network and provide strong support for the high-quality development of Guangxi's water conservancy industry.
Deputy President Liu Cunxiang pointed out three key areas: firstly, we should constantly pay attention to and ponder over relevant national and autonomous region policies, deeply understand new policies, identify small entry points for implementation, and write a great article on the school's innovative development; secondly, various high-quality enterprises should be "invited in," while the school should also enhance its confidence, leverage its strengths, and achieve service "going out"; thirdly, it is necessary to change the mindset to "look outward," meet demands with "good service and support," and carry out work centered on talent cultivation.
Deputy President Zhou Tao emphasized three points: firstly, "looking outward" should be combined with the construction of "Double High" (high-level education and high-quality industry-education integration) to achieve high-level educational capabilities and high-quality industry-education integration; secondly, cooperation with partner units and enterprises should be strengthened to continuously provide quality services and truly achieve a win-win situation for both the college and enterprises; thirdly, greater policy support should be provided to serve well and reduce teachers' concerns.
The meeting thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Central Economic Work Conference, and the Central Rural Work Conference. It also implemented the important requirements of President Xi Jinping's important expositions on water management and Guangxi-related work, as well as conveyed and studied the spirit of the meeting of the Guangxi Water Network Planning and Construction Leading Group. The meeting listened to reports and conducted thorough discussions on the ideas and measures of various relevant departments regarding serving Guangxi water network construction, promoting the school's high-level integration into major water conservancy projects and effectively supporting the high-quality development of Guangxi's water conservancy industry.
Taking this "looking outward" virtual conference as an opportunity, we will actively explore and bravely practice, taking solid steps forward in serving Guangxi water network construction and writing a new chapter in the school's development.
